Cheddar Cheese Corgi Cookies
Your dog will these crunchy homemade cheddar cheese dog cookies. They are made with rice and oat flour making them gluten-free and super delicious.
Finn is our first Corgi and we couldn’t be more in love with his big attitude and short legs!
He’s a Cardigan Welsh Corgi and my entire family has fallen madly in love with him.
He’s sweet, spicy, loves to bark and he can definitely hold his own with the Newfies.
Finn also likes anything and everything cheese! He doesn’t get it every day of course, but he’s always right by my side whenever he hears a cheeses wrapper.
Since I make a lot of homemade cookies that are Newfie-themed, I thought it was time that I made Finn his very own batch of homemade cheddar cheese dog cookies that look just like him!
These cheddar dog cookies have been taste-tested and approved by Finn!
These homemade cheddar biscuits are super easy to make and since I used brown rice flour and oat flour, they’re gluten-free too!
I used cheddar cheeses that I shredded myself but you can use store-bought shredded cheese if you want to!
I used a Corgi cookie stamp but you can use any cookie cutter that you want! These cookies are obviously for any breed of dog but I like to theme my cookies which is why these are Cheddar Cheese Corgi Cookies:)
You only need 5 ingredients to make these cookies too!
Ingredients For Homemade Cheddar Cheese Dog Cookies
- 2 cups of brown rice flour
- 1 cup of oat flour
- 1 cup of cheddar cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cup of water
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325° F
- Combine brown rice flour and oat flour in a mixing bowl
- Add eggs and mix
- Add cheese
- Add water and knead
- Chill dough in the fridge for 20-30 minutes
- Roll chilled dough onto a floured surface (I rolled mine to about 1/4 inch thick because Finn likes his treats crunchy)
- Use a cookie cutter to cut out dog treats (if you’re using a cookie stamp as I did, I highly recommend dipping the stamp into flour before cutting)
- Place dog treats on a parchment-lined cookie sheet
- Bake treats for 30-40 minutes
- I allowed my dog cookies to cool in the oven because the crunchier the better for Finn but you don’t have to. Just make sure that the treats are cooked all the way through.
- Once your cheddar cheese dog treats have cooled completely, store in an airtight container for 5-7 days or store in the fridge for 7-10 days.
My recipe made 28 Corgi faces but the quantity will be based on the size of your cookies.
Make sure to feed treats in moderation especially if your dog has never had any of the ingredients listed in this recipe.
