Baked Banana Bone Biscuits

Delicious banana and peanut butter homemade dog treats made with bananas, peanut butter and oat flour that your dog will love!

Whenever we have some overripe bananas I always like to put them to good use instead of just throwing them in the trash. Since the last time I used our overripe bananas to make chocolate chop banana bred, I thought this time around I would make some easy homemade dog treats for the boy.

It never fails, no matter how many bananas that I buy, I always have 2 leftover!

So this homemade banana dog treat recipe calls for, you guessed it, 2 overripe bananas, some peanut butter, ginger, cinnamon and oat flour.

I added peanut butter to this treat recipe because Odin is not a fan of bananas but he LOVES his peanut butter, so instead of spitting these out, he gobbles them up. Odin and Finn love anything and everything so they both gave these homemade banana dog treats 2 paws up!

I smashed up the bananas and mixed the peanut butter and egg together, then I added in the ginger, cinnamon and oat flour and mixed well with my hands.

The dough was a little sticky so I placed in the fridge to chill for about 15-20 minutes and then I rolled it out and used my bone-shaped dog cookie cutters to cut out the shapes.

My dogs like crunchy treats so I rolled the dough out thin.

Then I baked in a 325 degree preheated oven for 30 minutes.

After I turned the oven off, I cracked the oven door and let the cookies cool in the oven to give them that extra crunch that my dogs love!

If your dog prefers softer treats, you can pull them out of the oven and let them cool on a cooling rake.

For this recipe, you can use oat flour or regular old-fashioned oats but you’ll want to put them in a food processor or mixture to make a fine powder.

I used oat flour because I had it on hand!

My dogs finished these off in less than a week but they should last 7-10 days in a sealed container.
